COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS ASSISTANT (CDA) Part-Time | Permanent | Durham Region | GTA | In-home weekly | In-clinic on occasion

We are seeking a dedicated Communicative Disorders Assistant to support our growing team in a part-time, permanent capacity. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a measurable and meaningful impact in the lives of neurodivergent children and their families - not just deliver programs, but journey with clients as they build communication, confidence, and regulation over the long-term. You will work under the supervision of a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist and provide majority of services in-home and community settings. Prior experience in working with Autistic children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds an asset.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver speech-language and communication based intervention under the supervision of an SLP.
  • Support neurodivergent children (ages 3-16) in developing communication, play, regulation skills, social language, and use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication tools.
  • Work in the home of children with Autism, Speech Delays, Language Delays, and Self-Regulation challenges.
  • Support families in understanding and implementing communication strategies in daily life.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress towards goals, communication logs, and correspondence with the supervising SLP.
  • Help organize educational materials, newsletters, and informational workshops for clients.
  • Collaborate with the BRAVE team to ensure messaging aligns with clinical philosophy, protocols, and confidentiality standards.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of BRAVE workshops and community learning initiatives when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of a recognized CDA program
  • Membership with CDAAC (preferred)
  • Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum and / or those with Complex Communication Needs
  • Familiarity with AAC (P2Go, LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat )
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized, dependable, and punctual
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Durham region and the GTA (Travel compensation provided)

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Part-Time, Permanent Position

  • Minimum 8 hours per week
  • Competitive compensation: $55-70 per hour commensurate with experience
  • Travel Compensation based on distance between client homes
