What you'll do

  • Lead and motivate a team of service technicians and advisors to ensure high-quality automotive repairs and maintenance.
  • Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and inventory control.
  • Implement effective upselling strategies to maximize service sales while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough automotive diagnostics to identify issues and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance.
  • Manage customer interactions with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and building lasting relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and dealership policies while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support automobile sales through effective service offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, including auto estimating and service writing documentation.

Basic qualifications

  • Proven experience in auto service management within a dealership setting.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience in automotive repair.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and various repair services such as brake repair, oil changes, transmissions, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair.

Preferred qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills with a track record of successful communication and relationship-building.
  • Experience in cash handling and managing financial transactions within the service department.
  • Ability to train and develop staff while fostering a positive team culture focused on growth and performance.
