Be part of fast paced high volume ophthalmology office. We have position open for an Administrative / Clinical Assistant working directly with the retina specialist, the successful candidate will represent the physician in a professional manner in all aspects, especially when interacting with the public, patients, clinic staff or other health care individuals.

Provide extraordinary patient care, effective communication and management of patient experience.

· Solid computer skills / typing skills and familiarity with MS Office and other electronic medical record programs.

· Answers all telephone calls promptly, respond to voice mail and inquiries by patients, prospective patients, referring doctors' offices in a timely and courteous manner.

· Re-scheduling as required, schedule patient appointments accurately with all testing requested by the physician.

· Calendar management, templating clinic schedule.

· Coordinate genetic referral testing and other additional test as required.

· Coordinate referral letters and ensue the letter is sent out in a timely fashion.

· Solid technical abilities (history taking, VA, IOP etc).

· Assisting the physician with procedures in the office (injection, laser etc).

· Scribe duties, including instructing and counselling patients.

· Appropriate sanitization and aseptic technique for rooms and equipment in-between patients.

· Complete requests as they arise from physicians and management in a timely matter.

The successful applicant brings:

Experience delivering exceptional customer service in a face-to-face environment.

Certification / Graduate of a formal ophthalmic training program (SAIT OA, JCAHPO COA or COT) preferred. Applicants with previous ophthalmology experience will be given priority.

Strong computer skills required.

Good interpersonal and effective communication skills (verbal, written, and oral).

A positive attitude, the enthusiasm to learn and work professionally with peers, to support both patients, their companions, and the physicians.

Strong ability to multi-task with a knack for self-managing and prioritizing based on clinic needs.

Focuses towards working in a team environment with an upbeat attitude, with the willingness to learn and work professionally to support both patients, their companions and the physicians.
