Focus

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for Full Cycle Logistics on all shipments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Communication with growers/shippers for pick ups
  • Communication with buyers, sales and inventory teams
  • Booking phytosanitary inspections with CFIA
  • Booking, tracking and scheduling Air, Ocean, Truck & Rail
  • Tracking of all shipments and management of documentation
  • Track all loads to ensure on time arrivals, trouble shoot potential problems or delays
  • Keeping up to date on freight rates as they change throughout the year
  • Carrier development and claims negotiation
  • Order entry/Sales support

Key Attributes and Skills

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and database programs)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate ability to plan workflow and efficiently prioritize competing tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be adaptable and problem solve in new and changing situations

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field considered an asset
  • Logistics and/or customer service experience is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and database software considered an asset
  • Salary negotiable based on education & experience

Working Conditions

  • Hours may be irregular and in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
  • Work outside ordinary office hours (including weekends and holidays) will be required.
