Summary

We are seeking a skilled SMT Process Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Canada. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our manufacturing processes and ensuring the quality of our electronic control products. Your contributions will be vital to our mission of delivering excellence in every product we create.

1. SMT Manufacturing Processes

  • Develop and optimize programs for SMT equipment (e.g., screen printing, pick-and-place, AOI, reflow).
  • Improve SMT line efficiency through line balancing, defect reduction, and yield improvement.
  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) through SMT program development.
  • Provide technical support and training for operators.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production metrics (efficiency, quality, turnaround).
  • Drive continuous improvement through process analysis, automation, and layout optimization.
  • Analyze technical documentation (Gerbers, schematics, BOMs) and prepare process documents (Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs).
  • Explore innovative technologies to support cost-effective product design and manufacturing.

2. Departmental Development & Performance

  • Ensure compliance with labour, environmental, and health & safety regulations.
  • Support other manufacturing roles as needed.
  • Create and manage effective training programs focused on productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain manufacturing capacity plans.
  • Promote open communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Enforce workplace safety policies to reduce injury risks.

3. Equipment Management

  • Stay current with evolving electronics manufacturing technologies.
  • Optimize equipment and processes to maintain competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with QA to implement a preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform corrective and preventive actions based on established protocols.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) -Education: Bachelor's or College degree in Industrial or Electrical Engineering fields

Experience: 5+ years of experience in electronic manufacturing focused on SMT and Wave soldering

Other:

· Previous SMT and Wave Soldering equipment operation experience preferred.

· Experience in SMT machine programming and setup preferred.

· Experience in IPC-610, ISO 9001 and WHMIS standard preferred.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Vendor management experience is an asset.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of Process control methodologies (SPC, Cp, Cpk,)

· Knowledge of Six sigma and lean manufacturing

· Ability to be flexible with work hours, working weekends and evenings from time to time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,729.66-$94,206.71 per year
