Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low-voltage systems across commercial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of security, communication, and automation systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients' environments. Duties

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including security alarms, CCTV surveillance, sensors, and access control devices.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to perform cabling, conduit work, and hardware mounting with precision.
  • Conduct system testing using remote access software and other diagnostic tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on computer networking equipment, telecommunication lines, and security system components.
  • Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly.
  • Maintain detailed service reports, installation documentation, and inventory records for all projects.
  • Assist in sales efforts by explaining system features to clients and supporting alarm system sales initiatives when needed.

Ideal (but not all needed) Experience

  • Either entry-level or proven experience as a service technician specializing in low-voltage systems or related electrical fields.
  • Ideally, knowledge of computer networking principles, system design, and remote access software applications.
  • Ideally, hands-on experience working with security systems such as CCTV cameras, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, and surveillance equipment.
  • Ideally, familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and construction practices related to low voltage installations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely for cabling and hardware installation.
  • Electrical experience, including wiring techniques for low-voltage circuits and understanding of telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of locksmithing principles is a plus for integrated security solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities for effective client interaction during field service visits. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
