JOB PURPOSE:
This role is critical to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of ECN IT infrastructure and systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being highly technical in nature, managing IT operations, driving process improvements, and leading teams in a highly collaborative environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, and help desk staff. Conduct performance reviews, provide training opportunities, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and support of all IT infrastructure components, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and cloud platforms. Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems.
Incident Management: Develop and implement incident management procedures to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution of IT issues. Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews.
Problem Management: Proactively identify and resolve recurring IT problems. Implement root cause analysis techniques and develop preventative measures.
Change Management: Implement and enforce change management processes to minimize disruption to IT services during system changes and upgrades.
Service Level Management: Define and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that IT services meet business requirements. Regularly report on performance against SLAs via established KPIs.
Budget Management: Develop and assist in managing the IT operations budget. Forecast future IT needs and make recommendations for investments in new technologies a key need.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and support services.
Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems. Work with the security team to identify and mitigate security risks.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure business operations can continue in the event of a major disruption.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize IT operations. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2-year certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in IT operations management in a service focused delivery model utilizing both in-house staff and vendor community.
Proven experience leading and managing mid-sized IT teams of individuals across Service Desk, Server and Network administration with overall experience in IT infrastructure, software development, data management, cybersecurity, cloud computing and working with project management for smooth operational transitions.
Strong technical skills in areas such as networking, server administration, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in multiple industries.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Four or more of the following certifications are required for consideration.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or 5 years successfully managing information technology and software.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or 3 years successfully managing cyber security for an organization of similar size.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
CompTIA Certifications:
o CompTIA Security+
o CompTIA Network+
Cloud Certifications (one or more of the following):
o AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Associate or Professional
o
Google Foundational / Associate / Professional
o
Microsoft Foundational / Associate / Professional
CIPS ITCP will be considered as an equivalent for one certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Required to work from Monday to Friday 8:30pm - 4:30pm at Enoch Cree Nation Administration Office, while adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual. Some travel and overtime may be required. May be required to work evenings and weekends.
