Toronto Ontario Canada fulltime January Youth Unlimited Toronto Full time
Are you passionate about relationally investing in youth and seeing youth experience wholeness and transformation in the heart of downtown Toronto? Do you love collaborating with others to make a difference in a neighbourhood? As part of our Gaining Ground Strategy, Youth Unlimited is hiring a Community Outreach Worker for the St. James Town neighbourhood.
About St. James Town St. James Town is a small neighbourhood of highrises in downtown Toronto. It is one of the most densely populated places in Canada, estimated at 17,000 people,  and often called "a world within a block" due to the cultural diversity that many newcomers bring to the community. One quick walk through the neighbourhood, and you will see kids running on the soccer fields, grandmas shopping for fruit at a local stand, and teens hanging around with their friends.
We anticipate hiring two individuals to work alongside each other in this neighbourhood. The St. James Town Community Workers will build relationships with youth and families by partnering with existing ministries within St. James Town and potentially pioneering new ones as part of our commitment to build transformative relationships with the youth of this community. This ministry will creatively respond to needs and opportunities in St. James Town and could include sports, arts, after school homework help, etc
