Lotus Group is proud to partner with our valued client in the energy sector as they search for a Territory Sales Manager to join their team in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the Territory Sales Manager will oversee the Northern Alberta and BC region, including but not limited to Grande Prairie, Dawson Creek, and Fort St. John. They will be responsible for territory development, sales, support, and knowledge of all products and services provided, manufactured, and distributed by the client. Critical success factors for this role include developing and maintaining strong client relationships, expanding market share, and providing sales support across the companys full suite of products and services.
This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated and relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in a hybrid farmer-hunter role. They need to be able to nurture an established book of business while strategically prospecting new opportunities to drive growth.
The successful candidate will represent the brand with professionalism and integrity, demonstrating a deep understanding of client needs and operational challenges in the oil and gas, manufacturing, and industrial service sectors. They will be supported by a strong inside sales and technical team, while maintaining a high degree of autonomy in the field.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of progressive outside sales experience, preferably in industrial services, valve, instrumentation, or oilfield equipment sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding territory revenue growth and profitability targets.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and background check required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and experience using CRM software (Microsoft Business Central preferred).
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related technical discipline is an asset.
- Proven network within Grande Prairie and the surrounding territory.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory (12 weeks per month, including day trips to Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and Whitecourt).
- A sound knowledge of valve and instrumentation products, as well as a solid general knowledge of other products, services and applications, is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of oil and gas operations from drilling to daily production processes would be an asset.
- Current First Aid, H2S Alive, Defensive Driving, and TDG certifications considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging all levels of customer organizations.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy that drives growth and profitability across assigned regions in support of national objectives. This includes creating and establishing sales objectives, profitability strategies, plans, and quotas.
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio and large book of business through consistent relationship management and exceptional customer service.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client functions, building visibility and credibility in the market.
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports; monitor variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Facilitate customer quotes and ensure timely follow-up on inquiries, bids, and proposals.
- Develop a deep understanding of the product line features, functionality and benefits. Act as a product champion for the product line to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Operations, and Distribution teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical product knowledge and assist with training sessions, Lunch & Learns, and client demonstrations.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings prepared to discuss key accounts, new leads, and strategic opportunities.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies, relaying insights to management for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM and ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Perform the position responsibilities in compliance with daily operating requirements, the Quality Management System and Safety Policies.
- Assist in the updating and continuous improvement of the organization's QMS, HSE, and ERP system.
- Other duties as assigned and requested.

Compensation: A comprehensive compensation and benefits plan will accompany the successful candidate, with an annual salary based upon individual experience, education, and skillset, as well as performance-based incentives based on pre-determined KPIs.
