HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Pharmacy Technician works with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals to achieve a high standard of drug distribution for inpatients and outpatients.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Regulated Technician Status in good standing with Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Related work experience in a hospital setting would be an asset

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, hospital pharmacy practice and pharmacy dispensing.
  • Excellent working knowledge of generic names and pharmacological classification of drugs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drug distribution and record keeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate concentrations, dilutions and quantities to compound products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, co-workers, nurses, physicians and
