Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage service, ensuring exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for the culinary arts, and a commitment to food safety and service excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in various dining environments, including fine dining and casual settings, and will be responsible for managing staff, inventory, oversee the banquet department and overall service operations. Public transit options to our location are limited, and shifts may begin or end outside regular transit hours. For this reason, reliable personal transportation is required, and should have open availability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily food and beverage operations to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff in food preparation techniques, customer service skills, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory control processes to maintain stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate transaction processing using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure timely food production and adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for new team members.
- Implement training programs focused on food safety, culinary skills, and hospitality management.
- Monitor budgetary constraints while maintaining quality service standards.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations regarding food handling and safety practices.
- Provide leadership during shifts to foster a positive work environment and address any operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of food and beverage experience required
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management roles with a focus on supervising teams.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Familiarity with cash handling processes and experience using POS systems .
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage guest relations effectively.
- Experience in training & development of staff within the food industry.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices and budgeting within a restaurant setting.
- Ability to lead by example with strong leadership qualities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in fine dining or casual dining establishments is highly desirable.
- Culinary experience is a plus; knowledge of catering services is beneficial as well.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy shifts.
