Overview

We are looking for a caregiver for part time work, one day per week with preferably set hours. We are flexible as to what day of the week. There will likely be opportunity to pick up extra shifts as well. Generally our shifts are 7AM - 3PM and 3PM to 11PM.

We plan on interviewing on the weekend of August 23/24.

Overall, we are a family seeking caregivers to work with our elderly Italian mom, in her home in lower Sahali, Kamloops. She requires full- time care and has a sweet personality. We are looking for people who are kind and observant. We need reliable kind people. Formal care aid training is a bonus but not necessary.

Duties

  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any changes in health status.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance her mental well-being.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia care strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with family members.

Experience

  • Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home care or assisted living is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
  • Experience working with seniors is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of dementia care techniques is an asset.
  • A background in nursing or healthcare can enhance your qualifications for this role.
  • References are required and we may ask for a criminal record check.
