We are currently looking for Caregivers within Victoria, BC who are compassionate and dedicated to providing high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of care. As a Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation and feeding.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Support mobility by assisting with transfers and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to foster positive relationships.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as assisted living, nursing home care, or hospice care is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia care and working with people with disabilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting for client mobility support.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application.
- Must be willing to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
