Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Barista/Cashier to join our team in a vibrant café environment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a variety of coffee and food items, and managing transactions efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent time management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages and food items while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for processing customer orders and payments.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces.
  • Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels of coffee beans, pastries, and other supplies.
  • Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and ensure accurate cash register operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.

Qualifications

  • Previous barista experience or coffee experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
  • Experience in the food industry or food service is a plus.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous but can be learned on the job.
