Manufacturing Support & CNC Programmer
Romac Metal Works, a leader in the custom metal machining and fabricating industry, located in Milton, ON, is seeking a Manufacturing Support & CNC Programmer to directly support machining operations, with a primary focus on Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) work.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, this role leverages detailed knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and Mastercam programming to support shop-floor execution and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with HBM machinists, both on the shop floor and in the engineering office, to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes.

Our compensation package is very competitive, including:

- Highly proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing methods, process planning, and order of operations
- Experienced in cutting tool selection to optimize performance, quality, and tool life
- Proficient in creating 2D and 3D geometry in Mastercam
- Skilled in generating accurate toolpaths and validating posted G-code prior to release to the shop
- Comfortable using Excel, Outlook, and standard communication tools
- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of listening to feedback and providing clear instruction
- Able to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive projects
- Capable of handling multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency
Responsibilities
- Manage in-house tooling inventory, including tracking and ordering
- Create Mastercam toolpaths and tool lists as assigned, ensuring all released programs are accurate and production-ready
- Support shop personnel by answering programming and setup-related questions and incorporating feedback into future programs
- Design, document, and standardize setup methods to achieve efficient machining
- Generate clear, accurate shop documentation to support manufacturing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using Mastercam (2D and 3D geometry)
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous hands-on CNC machining experience

- Experience with Horizontal Boring Mill equipment utilizing a B-axis table

This is a permanent fulltime position. Our work week consists of 44 hours. Overtime is often available, but not mandatory. The base rate for compensation will be adjusted based on the candidates experience and ability.
