HCR Permanent Search is currently working with a top manufacturing company in the Richmond Hill area who needs to hire a Maintenance Department Manager. What they are looking for is someone who has been employed as a Maintenance Manager in a fast paced manufacturing setting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or Skilled Trade CofQ with equivalent experience
  • 5+ years proven maintenance/facility management experience in manufacturing (preferably automotive)
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, HVAC, electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proficient with CMMS and maintenance/facility management software
  • In-depth understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards and compliance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance and facility management strategy
  • Lead, coach and manage maintenance technicians, facility staff and contractors
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support production
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs and CMMS records
  • Manage maintenance budget, spare parts and vendor/contractor relationships
  • Oversee installation, commissioning and engineering changes for equipment and tooling
  • Conduct regular inspections, 5S workplace checks, monthly safety talks and incident investigations
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and complies with company policies
  • Conduct performance reviews, approve leave, train new employees and handle progressive discipline
  • Collaborate with production and engineering on continuous improvement and customer issue resolution
