Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Adobe House Inc Full time

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our in-office team at Akustus.

This flexible role combines estimating, project coordination, and administrative support. You'll be responsible for reading architectural drawings, performing takeoffs, preparing quotes, and ensuring project details are clearly communicated between clients, designers, and production.

It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, detail-driven work but also likes variety in their day. No prior estimating experience is required — if you're organized, analytical, and eager to learn, we'll provide full training.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimating Duties

  • Review architectural drawings to identify acoustic products (panels, baffles, clouds, etc.)
  • Perform takeoffs — count quantities, calculate areas, and summarize dimensions
  • Prepare accurate quotes using our estimating software
  • Use Excel to organize data, perform calculations, and check for accuracy
  • Clarify missing or unclear information with clients or internal teams

2. Project Coordination Duties

  • Understand project scope and communicate details to our design and production teams
  • Help translate client design intent into clear, buildable information
  • Track key project milestones and assist with change updates or documentation
  • Maintain organized project records and follow up on open items

3. Administrative Support Duties

  • Update spreadsheets, databases, and internal documentation
  • Support the estimating and design teams with general office organization
  • Assist with tracking incoming project requests and client communication
  • Clarify missing or unclear information with clients or team members
  • Other administrative duties as required

What We're Looking For

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organized, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Curious and proactive — asks questions, seeks clarity, and takes initiative
  • Comfortable working with numbers and data in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys working collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team environment
  • Proficient in English
  • Able to perform simple math calculations confidently

Nice to Have:

  • Experience reading architectural or technical drawings
  • Familiarity with estimating, project coordination, or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read or speak French

Why You'll Love Working at Akustus:

  • Be part of a growing company in a creative, technical industry
  • Flexible, supportive environment with room to learn and grow
  • Hands-on training in architectural products, estimating, and coordination
  • Work closely with experienced professionals who value accuracy and craftsmanship

Only apply to this job if:

  • You are a Canadian citizen, a permanent or a temporary resident of Canada.
  • You have a valid Canadian work permit.

If you are not authorized to work in Canada, do not apply. The employer will not respond to your application.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Extended health care
  • On-site parking

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
