withinAbout the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Freelance Audiovisual Technician to join our production team for upcoming corporate shows, conferences, and live events. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting systems in professional environments.

The selected candidate will work at multiple venues throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

You will work with our Corporate logistics Manager to ensure all technical elements run seamlessly — from setup to showtime to teardown.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and dismantle audiovisual equipment for live and hybrid corporate events.
  • Manage audio systems, including microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and PA setups.
  • Operate video equipment, such as projectors, switchers, LED walls, and playback systems.
  • Configure and operate lighting consoles and fixtures according to show requirements.
  • Collaborate with event producers, stage managers, and clients to ensure smooth execution.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during rehearsals and live events.
  • Maintain and handle equipment with care, ensuring proper storage and transport.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in audiovisual production, ideally for corporate or live events.
  • Strong knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems
  • Experience with control software (e.g., Q-Lab, Dante Controller, Resolume, Lightkey, or similar).
  • Understanding of signal flow and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to read and follow technical schematics or event diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible hours.

Preferred Assets

  • Experience in corporate AV, trade shows, conferences, or gala events.
  • Knowledge of hybrid or streaming setups is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of camera operation will be an asset.

Pay: $22.50-$35.00 per hour
