Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team for a 9–12 months term to provide maternity leave coverage. This role is integral to maintaining the continuity of our financial operations—including reporting, compliance, and strategic support. While this is a fixed-term position, there is strong potential for it to become permanent as FulcrumAir continues its exponential growth, both locally and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a fast-growing, forward-thinking company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including notes and disclosures; act as the primary liaison with external auditors/reviewers.
  • Perform Accounts Receivable functions: invoicing and collections.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable process, including bill posting/payment and ensuring adequate bank funding.
  • Manage GST/sales tax filings for both Canada and the United States.
  • Support budget preparation and perform variance analysis.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts including capital assets, depreciation, prepayments, and intercompany accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Execute ad hoc projects as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting with GAAP/IFRS standards and consolidations.
  • University degree in Accounting; CPA designation (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Expensify, Joiin, or similar ERP/accounting software.
  • Strong command of MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management, communication skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
