Calgary, Alberta, Canada MASIV | Mercedes and Singh Innovative Ventures Full time

MASIV | Software Engineering Intern | 8-12 months starting Winter 2026 | In-Person only

| Calgary, AB | Canadian
Citizens and PR holders only

MASIV (est is an Architectural Design, Fabrication, and Build company that fuses design, technology, and construction to innovate multi-scale products and environments. The fusion of disciplines within our work opens previously impossible opportunities within each domain, allowing design to inspire AEC and AEC to inspire design.

At MASIV, we question dominant modes of design that have divorced us from the concept of the Master Builder by prioritizing humanity above all else. In this pursuit, we reject all forms of segregation and instead call for a radical synergy between disciplines.

Why you should (not) work here:

This internship isn't for everyone, and that's intentional. If you're looking for a 9-to-5 where someone holds your hand and gives you step-by-step instructions, you won't thrive here. We're building something ambitious and unconventional — and that demands people who are hungry to learn, who take ownership, and who can operate in ambiguity with curiosity and resilience.

You should work here if:

  • You want to work closely with a team that always figures it out, is design-driven, and expects excellence
  • You're excited by a startup environment where there are real deliverables, and the stakes are high
  • You crave feedback, self-improvement, and the chance to build something that matters
  • You can self-teach, ask smart questions, and push through friction, not freeze in the absence of instruction
  • You are curious about cutting-edge work in architecture, AI, automation, and fabrication, and want to learn how they converge
  • You believe in doing more with less, being accountable, and delivering value

You should not work here if:

  • You treat an internship like a university course where if you drop something, you just get a lower grade
  • You struggle with ambiguity or expect someone to constantly check in and tell you what to do
  • You avoid responsibility or blame others
  • You take constructive feedback personally or shut down when challenged
  • You are "too busy" to get things done on evenings or weekends when deadlines demand it
  • You're not here for the mission or the craft.

This internship is a proving ground. It's not easy, but it is rewarding for the right kind of intern. If you want to coast, this won't be a good fit. But if you want to accelerate your learning curve and grow into a highly capable professional, this might be the most valuable few months of your early career.

Summary

MASIV is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern for 8-12 months to join our innovative team. As part of our dynamic environment, you'll collaborate with computational architects, engineers, and fabricators, to design, develop, and implement software solutions across various AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) projects and initiatives.

Under the mentorship of the CEO and COO, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment. Your role will involve coding, debugging, and maintaining software applications, ensuring they meet quality standards and user requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment, making meaningful contributions to our team's success. At MASIV, you'll be part of a collaborative culture that fosters innovation and creativity, as you embark on a rewarding journey in the field of construction technology.
