Your Opportunity 

Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of roadway, transit, rail, aviation, and bridge projects. We are currently seeking co-op/interns with an interest in transportation for our multi-disciplinary team with the opportunity to support the Transit and Rail, Structural/Bridges, Roads, Planning/Traffic Engineering and Construction Administration teams. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work in a team environment, are keen to learn and want to be involved in exciting local and regional projects. 

An opportunity exists for a 12–16-month co-op term in our Calgary office.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your responsibility is to work as part of our project team, with your voice added to that of the team, under the guidance and mentorship of your more senior peers.  Responsibilities will be diverse and may include a range of activities, such as 

  • Preparing design drawings, studies, research, presentation materials, models, and technical drawings.
  • Conducting basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
  • Supporting project team in development of design documentation.
  • Assisting in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
  • Utilizing BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
  • Participating in constructability reviews and reviews building performance issues. 
  • Participating in Bluebeam sessions and helping to resolve markups in Revit. 
  • Supporting the specifications process and reviewing proposed products to align with the design intent. 
  • Supporting project managers as a project coordinator and or deputy PM. 
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD; Prefer experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, Sefaira, Recent modeling software, 3D Printer, Laser cutter. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Detail oriented team player and the ability to work independently.

Education and Experience

Currently enrolled in an engineering co-op or equivalent post-secondary program with availability for a 12 or 16-month internship.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
