Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned science lessons for Grade 10–12 students, covering Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology
- Diagnose student learning gaps through observation and assessments, and tailor lesson plans accordingly
- Create and mark quizzes, assignments, and mock exams to monitor progress and readiness
- Coach students on core scientific concepts, problem-solving strategies, and exam preparation (including BC Provincial Exams, AP, or IB if applicable)
- Offer timely, constructive feedback and maintain clear communication with students and their guardians
- Adapt teaching methods to support a variety of learning styles and student needs
- Participate in team meetings to exchange resources and share best teaching practices with fellow educators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field (teaching certification such as B.Ed is an asset)
- Minimum 1 year experience teaching or tutoring Grade 10–12 science subjects in the BC curriculum
- Strong knowledge of BC Science curriculum and provincial assessment standards
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages an asset (Mandarin preferred)
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools such as Zoom, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Patient, engaging, and committed to supporting student success
