Job Summary
The HCA/Caregiver is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client's needs. This client is in need of 24/7 care and has advanced dementia requiring total care.

Responsibilities 
  • Assistance with personal care and hygiene
  • Meal Preparation
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Accompany clients on outings
  • Shopping and errands
  • Medication Assist/ Reminders
  • Ambulation and transporting of clients
  • Provide companionship to clients
  • Ability to follow care-plan
  • Documentation/Charting
Qualifications
  • Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student).
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain 
  • Ability to travel around Greater Vancouver Area
  • Access to Internet/mobile phone
  • Must speak Tagalog. 
  • Experience with dementia
 The client can be stubborn and needs a lot of encouragement. Needs patience and ability to get the client to do the things they need to do without asking her if she will.  The client will always say NO.
