Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English instructor to join our Reading & Writing Program team. Availability after school hours (3:30 PM – 8:00 PM) on Tuesday to Friday, and Sunday afternoon are strongly preferred.

Our learning center provides high-quality academic enrichment and tutoring for students in elementary and secondary school, focusing on reading comprehension, writing skills, and test preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach English reading and writing to high school level students
  • Deliver engaging lessons that build vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, and essay writing skills
  • Prepare students for standardized tests such as SAT and SSAT (experience preferred)
  • Provide detailed feedback to support student growth and confidence.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the academic team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field (required).
  • Graduates only — current undergraduate students will not be considered.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong academic writing and communication skills.
  • Teaching or tutoring experience with high school students preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAT, AP or IB curriculum is an asset.
  • Relevant certificates (TESOL, CELTA, BC Teacher Certification, etc.) are a plus.
