Role Summary

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. This on-site role supports the accounting department in managing daily financial activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic real estate and property management environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General data entry and document filing (invoices, expenses, contracts).
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices.
  • Perform Accounts Receivable functions, including monthly rent collections
  • Perform Accounts Payable functions – enter P.O.s and invoices in QuickBooks, and prepare weekly cheque runs.
  • Report on the status of Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Maintain and update general ledgers.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Reconcile and balance accounts.
  • Process bank deposits and maintain daily cash flow analysis.
  • Assist with financial reporting and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
  • Provide administrative support to management as required.
  • Perform outside office tasks such as supplier pick-ups, bank deposits, and purchasing office supplies.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a Business-related field (Canadian institution preferred).
  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of QuickBooks experience.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting principles.
  • Experience in Real Estate Development or Property Management is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid G Driver's Licence preferred.
