Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently seeking a Full Time **Junior Technology Specialist **to join our team The role comprises a sport competition Timing and Scoring System Operator role combined with an Audiovisual and an IT Assistant role. Principle responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of our Swiss Timing and Scoring System, our Daktronics scoring system as well as AV systems, Locomobi parking system, Honeywell security system, and assisting with IT user support. The role involves testing, inspecting, setting up and operating timing, scoring, and AV equipment for sporting competitions and events.

The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

- Ensures the operation of the Swiss Timing and Scoring System, the Daktronics scoring system, Locomobi Parking System, the Honeywell Security System, AV systems and other IT technology within the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre;
- Executes all meet equipment setup and take down of timing system and sound/video system components;
- Rapidly responds to any equipment breakdown and executes immediate replacement protocols;
- Interacts with officials and Hytek operators regarding any needs or system issues;
- Performs system inventories and testing to ensure redundant critical equipment;
- Maintains asset inventory and recommends purchases;
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment;
- Liaises with contractors who perform annual inspections and repair work within scope;
- Operates timing and scoring systems for aquatic and sporting events;
- Maintains quality service by complying with industry and company standards;
- Maintains event logs and/or list of required repairs and maintenance for equipment and systems within scope;
- Identifies and prepares hardware for disposal when appropriate and ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal;
- Writes reports and updates timing system logs;
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge;
- Understands, supports and adheres to Company policies, programs, and procedures
- Knowledge of Swiss Timing System (Omega) (e.g., swimming) and demonstrated ability to operate Swiss Timing and Scoring System (with Omega Quantum controller preferred);
- Knowledge of Daktronics scoring system (e.g., for basketball);
- Able to eliminate distractions and remain focused;
- Familiar with aquatic events and sporting event logistics;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting with strong communication skills.
- Experience working in game day operations, event planning, customer service and/or promotions is an asset;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Strong time management and organizational skills;
- Tact, diplomacy and some political acumen;
- Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills;
- Effective written communications skills;
- Must be able to work evenings, as well as weekends and some holidays.
