Position Overview
As a Quality Assurance Associate, you'll be a key part of our QA/QC team, helping to ensure that our products meet strict regulatory, safety, and quality standards throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your work will help uphold the trust our customers place in the CanPrev brand every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, maintaining and implementing SOPs, forms, specifications, and quality documentation in compliance with Natural Health Products GMP guidelines.
- Sampling, inspecting, testing, and preparing reports of incoming material including finished product, packaging material and label.
- Review documents associated with finished products batch records, CoA and test results for compliance and assist release of finished products.
- Communicate with suppliers/contract manufacturers with quality issues, resolve issues in a timely manner and record.
- Review Freshdesk email, assign respective actions, and follow up until resolve.
- Investigate and document product non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification results. Conduct root cause analysis and assign corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Record and investigate customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Perform quality activities in the eQMS platform, organize documents and records in designated eQMS locations.
- Manage retain sample log and retain samples.
- Perform stability testing as per stability study design and input results in stability report template.
- Monitor facility sanitation activities and review records to ensure compliance to GMP guidelines.
- Monitor Pest control activities performed by contractors, review records, communicate with contractors, and act for any pest sight.
- Monitor compliance with Pest control contractor license and pest control substances.
- Monitor temperature and humidity control of the licensed facility.
- Monitor GMP compliance in the warehouse and distribution area.
- Support internal audits, supplier audits, and regulatory inspections as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, to maintain a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Support team with daily activities as a backup or fill absence.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, including NHPR and 21 CFR part 111.
- Stay updated on FDA guidelines for dietary supplements, including the company's products that meet the necessary regulatory standards for labeling, claims and manufacturing practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality systems by identifying opportunities for process optimization and improvement.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Key Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Food safety, Quality Assurance, chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a QA role, preferably within the natural health products including supplements, homeopathic or herbal medicine, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
- Solid understanding of GMP, Health Canada, FDA regulations, and quality systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities - teamwork is key.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with eQMS software is an asset.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools.

Schedule
Monday to Friday, Hybrid - 4 days onsite, 1 day remote.
