Job Title: Planner / Dispatcher – Auto Parts

Location: Mississauga, ON

JBS Expedite Ltd. is hiring an experienced Planner / Dispatcher with mandatory experience in expedite auto parts transportation. This role is critical to our operations and requires deep knowledge of appointment-based automotive freight, real-time expedite dispatching, and close driver coordination to ensure on-time delivery for time-critical auto parts shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and dispatch trucks for expedite auto parts loads, including time-critical and just-in-time shipments
  • Manage daily and weekly expedite routes, appointments, and lane coverage
  • Monitor live loads in real time and make immediate adjustments based on HOS, traffic, weather, equipment availability, and customer priorities
  • Dispatch drivers with complete expedite load details, delivery windows, and special handling instructions
  • Track ETAs closely and proactively resolve delays, dock issues, breakdowns, or service disruptions
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers during high-priority expedite moves
  • Communicate load status, exceptions, and recoveries with customers and internal teams
  • Ensure full compliance with HOS regulations, safety policies, and automotive customer requirements
  • Update loads, milestones, PODs, and documents in TMS, Fleet Manager, and customer portals
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and daily performance reports

Requirements (Must Have)

  • 5+ years of cross-border dispatch experience specifically in expedite auto parts transportation (required)
  • Strong understanding of appointment-based and just-in-time automotive freight
  • Proven experience managing time-critical expedite loads
  • Solid knowledge of HOS regulations, dock operations, and plant delivery processes
  • Experience using Fleet Manager, TMS systems, and dispatch/customer portals
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-pressure, time-sensitive expedite shipments simultaneously
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
