Your Opportunity:

The Children's Day Treatment Program is a multi-disciplinary team that provides outpatient care to children and their families. Patients in our program are in grades 3-7 (ages 7-13) with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive and behavioural disorders. We operate 5 days a week with children attending a school-based program. Under the supervision of the program's psychologists, you will administer and score standardized psychological tests (WISC,WIAT) and score questionnaires that the psychologists use for their assessment (MASC, CDI, Brief, ABAS, BASC), conduct objective behavioural observations in a variety of settings throughout the day – watching for ADHD pre and post medication trials if needed. You will provide summary of observations to the team and write descriptive reports of behavioural observations for a treatment summary. You will Attend a variety of multidisciplinary team meetings to provide behavioural observations to the team and collaborates in treatment planning and implementation and completes background information for Psychology reports, Sends out and scores questionnaires for the program evaluation. You will orders and maintain inventory of psychological test materials as needed. This position includes some duties of an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Under the supervision of our Occupational Therapist, they assist in the facilitation of groups and documentation in Connect Care. This position helps to maintain OT equipment- sensory tool kits, chairs, desks, cushions, etc., to complete OT prequestionnaires with parents at or before admission.

Description:

As a Psychometrist, you will provide services related to psychological assessment, working under the direction of the responsible psychologist(s). You will meet with patients and administer and score a variety of psychological tests, and record behavioural observations. Your information and results are provided to effectively support the psychologist(s) responsible for interpreting assessment data and any related clinical decision making or recommendations. You may also provide support to psychologists in their research and or evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited university. Experience administering standardized tests with school aged children and adolescents. Competence in the administration of standardized tests and various test of attention, memory and executive functioning. Demonstrated attention to detail. Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with computer scoring systems and digital administration platforms systems. Completion of Brain Story Certification Preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving Training preferred. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset.
