Your Opportunity:
Working within and reporting to the manager in the Child and Adolescent Addiction and Mental Health & Psychiatry Program CAAMHPP, Specialized Services, a tertiary-level out-patient service, the Psychologist I with the Community Assessment and Consultation Service (CACS) provides consultation, diagnostic assessment and recommendations to patients, families, CAAMHPP therapists and schools (when appropriate) regarding children, adolescents and emerging adults with co-morbid mental health disorders and associated developmental, cognitive and behavioural disorders. Referrals for Assessment and Consultation requests come from CAAMHPP therapists who are actively involved in treatment and are looking for an enhanced understanding of psychological need to tailor treatment and enhance outcomes. Service delivery may also include liaison and collaboration with relevant community agencies, including school observations and case conferences. The Psychologist I works in parallel to an Occupational Therapist and a Speech-Language Pathologist. The team may provide individual assessments or may be required to collaborate on consultation and assessment questions. A family-centered approach is utilized and an understanding of parental mental health disorders if required, including working with a neuro-diverse population. Experience using the WISC-V, WIAT-III, WAIS-IV, ADOS-2 and ADIR (among others) is required, as is the ability to provide differential diagnosis based on the DSM-V. The position is assigned to the Community Assessment and Consultation Service within Specialized Services but can be reassigned to any clinic/service within Specialized Services according to clinical need. The position is a permanent 0.80 FTE (4 days per week).

Description:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Applications from Provisional Psychologists may be considered.
