LeverageTek is seeking a
Payroll Lead (Dayforce)
for a 6-month contract assignment supporting their global client.

Key Tasks

  • Manage and process full-cycle Canadian payroll for ~800 employees across multiple provinces.
  • Lead payroll activities including auditing, reconciliation, adjustments, ROEs, year-end support, and compliance checks.
  • Ensure accurate processing of employee changes, new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation updates.
  • Review, validate, and approve payroll outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Troubleshoot Dayforce issues and collaborate with internal teams or vendor support to resolve system-related challenges.
  • Provide guidance to HR, Finance, and operational teams on payroll policies, best practices, and Dayforce functionality.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, streamline payroll processes, and ensure strong internal controls.
  • Deliver timely reporting, including payroll summaries, variance analyses, and audit requests.
  • Support year-end activities including T4s, reconciliations, and government filings.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong Dayforce experience – hands-on, full-cycle payroll processing in Dayforce (non-negotiable).
  • Canadian payroll expertise – managing end-to-end payroll for large employee groups (500+), across multiple provinces.
  • Proven ability to lead or run payroll independently – can step in quickly, own the process, and ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Canadian payroll experience, with significant experience handling payroll volumes of 500+ employees.
  • Dayforce experience is mandatory - strong proficiency required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, employment standards, and multi-province payroll requirements.
  • Experience leading payroll operations or acting as a senior payroll resource.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Assets

PCP or CPM certification (an asset).
