Job Summary

I am seeking a caring and responsible Nanny to provide attentive childcare and support for my 4 year old son in my home. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, reliable, and experienced in caring for children. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment while assisting with daily routines, meal preparation, and light household tasks.

This position includes a private room in my home. I am expecting a minimum of 40hrs a month or 10hrs/week of care for my son in lieu of monthly rent charge. Any hours greater than 40hrs in a month will be compensated by an hourly wage (to be negotiated depending on experience and training).

This position would be ideal for a college student or someone who has a part-time job and is looking to save on rent + make extra money.

I have my son every other week and he is in daycare during the week (Daycare hours 8:00am - 5:30pm)

My ideal candidate will have their own reliable/safe vehicle (class 5 license), first aid, CPR and prior experience as a nanny or youth worker. I would also prefer someone who will do light household cleaning. Cooking is also a huge asset.

My work has a schedule provided at the start of each month but there is a lot of on call work I miss out on due to day care hours. I am looking for someone reliable/flexible to live in our home and take care of my son and the household chores during the hours I may work outside of daycare hours.

There are also two big dogs in the house (Bernese Mountain Dog + Yellow Lab)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times during shifts
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary needs
  • Assist with educational activities, and teaching age-appropriate skills
  • Engage children in creative play, reading, and outdoor activities to promote development
  • Perform cleaning duties
  • Support children's daily routines
  • Communicate effectively with me regarding daily activities and any concerns

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in a caregiving or teaching capacity
  • Knowledge of meal preparation and cooking for children
  • Strong caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and reliability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with families
  • Ability to perform light household chores
  • Certification in CPR or first aid is preferred
  • Must be responsible, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality care

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
