What you will do:

The Senior Systems Engineer leads requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and verification activities to ensure system designs meet product objectives, customer expectations, and industry standards. This role provides technical and strategic direction across global product development teams, supporting both new product introductions and ongoing programs.

Systems Architecture & Design


• Provide technical and strategic direction to product development teams regarding system architecture, design, and integration.


• Architect robust system-level solutions ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and speed-to-market.


• Drive consistency in system design methodologies and analytical approaches across projects and platforms.


• Apply system design, modeling, and simulation tools (e.g. SysML, UML) to guide early architecture decisions and verify implementation feasibility and performance.

Requirements Engineering


• Lead requirements elicitation, decomposition, analysis, traceability, and validation activities.


• Ensure requirements are structured, testable, and aligned to organizational goals, customer needs, and ASPICE/ISO26262 expectations.


• Develop system-level requirements that enable effective hardware, software, and controls development.

Cross-Functional Technical Leadership


• Work collaboratively with multiple agile development teams across global locations to deliver end-to-end product features from concept to launch.


• Provide direction, coaching, and technical guidance to engineers to enhance team capability and effectiveness.


• Support cross-disciplinary design reviews, trade-off analyses, and decision-making activities.

Product & Process Development


• Provide system-level insights into vehicle integration, component interactions, and performance trade-offs.


• Drive development and evolution of ASPICE- and ISO26262-compliant systems engineering processes.


• Stay current with industry trends and technologies and translate insights into system strategy and roadmap recommendations.

Engineering Support & Documentation (Limited to Role Scope)


• Contribute and provide feedback to core engineering documentation, including eFMEAs, code repositories, and eDVP&R artifacts.


• Lead or contribute to 8D problem-solving activities as required.

What you will bring:

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Software, Computer, Control, Mechatronics, Electrical) or Computer Science. Master's degree or higher is an asset.

Experience


• 5+ years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, Vehicle Controls, Firmware Development, or ECU development/deployment.


• 2+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably in C/C++.


• Strong experience working with both Windows and Linux environments.


• Experience with ASPICE and ISO 26262 development activities is highly valuable.


• Experience with requirements management and system design for complex electromechanical and embedded systems.

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional guidance.


• Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems using limited information.


• Ability to balance accuracy vs. development speed and determine appropriate confidence levels for decisions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interfacing with global teams.

Certifications 


• IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering


• ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer or equivalent
