Position Overview:

The Residential Field Coordinator will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing all field operations related to the installation of steel brackets in residential and commercial properties in Edmonton and area. This hands-on leadership role involves managing sub-contractor crews, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining quality control, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Superintendent will work closely with the project management team, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of each project.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise all aspects of bracket installation on-site, ensuring that work is completed according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors, ensuring work is performed efficiently, safely, and within scope.
  • Develop and maintain installation schedules, ensuring timelines are adhered to.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all field-related matters, liaising with project/site managers, engineers, clients, and other contractors.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all safety regulations, policies, and procedures are followed on the job site to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Lead by example and promote a safety-first culture on every job site.
  • Ensure that brackets are installed according to drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and inspect the installation process to ensure quality control and prevent rework.
  • Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the job site.
  • Maintain an inventory of materials and supplies on-site to avoid delays or shortages.
  • Proactively identify and address issues that may arise during the installation process, such as site conditions, project changes, or crew challenges.
  • Work with the operations team to implement solutions and keep the installations on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any issues encountered on-site.
  • Provide regular updates to the management on project status, including progress reports, delays, and any safety or quality concerns.
  • Complete required documentation, including time sheets, material usage logs, and safety inspection reports.
  • Review customer billing and invoicing details, making amendments as required, prior to sending to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience in bracket installation, foundation work, home building, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of bracket installation, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Experience with scheduling and resource management of construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to enforce safety compliance.
  • Valid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
  • Proficiency with basic project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands
Frequent bending, crawling, and lifting. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. This position operates in an outdoor setting frequently (60%), which could be in rain, snow, cold or hot weather. While not in the field, this position works in an office setting (40%).

Hours of Work
Typical hours of work are Monday – Friday 7am-4:30pm. Overtime and weekends may be required, especially during the busy construction season.
