is currently hiring a
General Accountant
to join their dynamic and committed Finance team.

Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, and balance sheet items
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts including bank transactions and intercompany accounts
  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue and expense accruals
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers and prepare supporting schedules
  • Prepare and maintain prepaid asset schedules and amortization entries
  • Reconcile fixed assets, record depreciation, and prepare depreciation schedules
  • Assist with payroll-related accounting and month-end accruals

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Verify and process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Ensure accurate filing, record-keeping, and compliance with internal controls

Banking & Cash Management

  • Perform daily and monthly banking transactions, including transfers and deposits
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts

Reporting & Systems

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in audits, year-end preparations, and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Manage and maintain data across accounting platforms (Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics GP, Cogsdale, NorthStar, Power BI, Jet Reports)

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and systems
  • Provide cross-departmental support on financial matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet company objectives

Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Actively pursuing CPA designation (preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in the submetering or energy sector
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS) and the full accounting cycle
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced level preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines
