Build a Career in Landscaping and Construction (Year-Round) Full-time, Permanent Work

Haliscape Construction is a locally owned landscape and construction company based in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our crew for year-round outdoor work.

From spring through fall, you'll help complete landscaping and construction projects - grading soil, laying sod, planting trees and shrubs, and building patios, walkways, and retaining walls.

When winter hits, you'll transition into our on-call snow removal team, earning premium pay for clearing snow and ice. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work, being outdoors, and working as part of a reliable crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with landscape construction projects such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and grading
  • Spread and level soil, mulch, gravel, and other materials
  • Plant sod, shrubs, and trees
  • Operate hand tools and small landscape equipment (wheelbarrows, tampers, compactors, etc.)
  • Participate in on-call snow removal operations during winter (shoveling, salting, clearing snow)
  • Work flexible hours during snow events (early mornings, evenings, weekends as needed)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 season of landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required - job sites are not bus or transit accessible, and on-call winter shifts may require travel at any time
  • Physically capable of lifting, digging, and working in all weather conditions
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
  • Willing and available for on-call snow removal work during winter

Compensation & Benefits

  • $19.00–$24.00/hour based on experience (higher pay during snow removal shifts)
  • Year-round, steady employment
  • All tools and equipment provided
  • Safe, supportive work environment with room for growth
