Our projects cover federal government, commercial, residential, institutional, health care, life science, transportation, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. Due to expansion, we are looking for a Commissioning Specialist who is based in Metro Toronto or Ottawa to join our engineering team.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Specialist to lead and execute commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, life safety, fire protection, and building automation systems (BAS), Integrated Systems Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems in accordance with CAN/ULC-S1001.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on experience in complex building systems commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and perform commissioning of 
    mechanical, electrical, fire protection, life safety, and BAS systems
    .
  • Develop commissioning plans, test scripts, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and owners to ensure proper system installation and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system deficiencies, providing corrective recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed commissioning reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • 5+ years of commissioning experience in building systems.
  • Strong knowledge of 
    fire protection, life safety systems, and CAN/ULC-S1001 standard
    .
  • Familiarity with BAS, HVAC, electrical distribution, and integrated systems.
  • P.Eng. designation or eligible for registration in Canada (preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Can legally work in Canada
  • Language: fluent in oral and written English·
