Contracts Consultant
, reporting to the Team Lead, SCM. This is a one-year term position based out of the Calgary Corporate Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance
- Ensure all contracting activities are conducted in accordance with the Sourcing & Procurement Procedures.
- Contract Administration
- Facilitate the flow of documentation and communication between the company and contractors to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Collaboration
- Strengthen collaboration with cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to meet contractual requirements and address issues proactively.
- Communication
- Provide timely identification, communication, and resolution of contractual matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Reporting
- Monitor and report on contractor performance against contractual expectations, addressing discrepancies as needed.
Process Improvement
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contract administration processes and address recurring challenges throughout the contract lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in legal or business disciplines with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in contract administration, contract conformance and legal, within the oil and gas industry, preferably in gas pipeline construction.
- Proven expertise in the contracting processes and challenges specific to energy industry with a strong focus on the oil and gas sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the intent, context, purpose, and application of all documentation typically required within contracts for oil and gas projects.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and a high standard of quality in all work.
- Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and oral) skills, with a track record of making sound, timely decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with others, maintaining a positive and constructive attitude to support collective success.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective planning, scheduling, and prioritizing.
- Excellent time management skills and self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, Outlook etc.)
