Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Oakville, ON (must be located close enough for a daily commute)

Length: 3-month contract to start (possibility of extension)

Rotation: Mon-Fri

Description:

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is currently seeking a Material Handler for an initial 3-month contract in Oakville, ON. This position requires candidates who are local and able to commute daily. There is potential for the contract to be extended based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move, handle, prepare, and maintain product/inventory to support shipping, receiving, or production operations.
  • Operate job-specific equipment such as industrial staplers, banding machines, bar code scanners, and forklifts.
  • Ensure inventory is stored accurately according to FIFO procedures and maintain stock location accuracy.
  • Perform cycle counting and support inventory audits as required.
  • Package products properly to prevent damage during storage or shipment.
  • Perform daily data entry into ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and shipping platforms (e.g., FedEx, Purolator).
  • Route and file documentation accurately for internal processing.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling and data entry.
  • Knowledge of handling and transporting dangerous goods is an asset.
  • Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Effective communication skills and strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Physically capable of performing duties including heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and packing.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shift work as required.
