Talent Renew is partnering with a well-established Toronto law firm seeking a motivated Insolvency Lawyer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with 5+ years of experience to work on complex insolvency, restructuring, and debt enforcement matters while collaborating in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide legal advice and representation on a broad range of insolvency matters, including bankruptcies, receiverships, proposals, CCAA restructurings, and debt recovery. You will work with diverse stakeholders such as lenders, trustees, receivers, and debtors, managing files independently while collaborating with colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and creditor rights

  • Act for a variety of stakeholders, including lenders, trustees, receivers, and debtors

  • Handle files involving bankruptcies, receiverships, proposals, CCAA restructurings, and enforcement matters

  • Manage debt recovery and collection matters for financial institutions and other creditors

  • Represent clients in court on motions, applications, and other proceedings

  • Negotiate and draft insolvency-related agreements and court documents

  • Collaborate with colleagues in related practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in insolvency, restructuring, and debt enforcement

  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills

  • Excellent professional and academic credentials

  • Ability to manage complex files independently and efficiently

  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to business development

  • Willingness to attend the Toronto office at least 4 days per week
