Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on various metals, including sheet metal, pipe, and ductwork, adhering to safety standards and ASME codes & standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape, cut, and assemble materials.
  • Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and finish.
  • Execute pipe threading, soldering, rigging, and assembly tasks with mechanical knowledge to construct complex assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects involving machining, schematics interpretation, fabrication of ductwork or structural components.
  • Support quality control by inspecting finished work using basic math skills and technical tools to verify accuracy against specifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues by applying mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills during the manufacturing process.

Experience

  • Proven construction site experience or manufacturing background involving metal fabrication is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on welding experience with MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings essential for precise fabrication.
  • Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations confidently.
  • Experience working with sheet metal, ductwork, piping systems or mechanical assemblies advantageous.
  • Capable of working safely on construction sites or manufacturing floors while adhering to all safety regulations including rigging procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining processes such as pipe threading or component assembly preferred.
