Fortran Steel Contracting Ltd is currently looking to hire a full-time Welder/Fabricator to join our team. We have a busy fabrication shop where you will be in all different forms of fabrication, structural steel, stairs and railings, pipe supports.

The ideal candidate must be organized, reliable, responsible, and trustworthy. Be able to work under pressure and work with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Weld and Fit Steel components using welding equipment.

  • Assemble and fabricate metal parts as required.

  • Utilize a crane and/or forklift for material handling.

  • Operation of CNC machine and Plasma cutter

  • Read and Review blueprints details and assembly drawings.

  • Ensure all required parts for assembly are present, properly fitted and aligned.

  • Ensure quality control standards are met

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • A valid driver's license is required, as facility is not accessible by public transportation.

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a welder/fitter.

  • Proficiency in welding techniques and processes.

  • Experience with operating CNC Machine, Plasma Cutter, over head cranes.

  • Must understand how to read a measuring tape in both Imperial and Metric

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly drawings.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday 730am to 5pm Friday 730am to 4pm

  • Overtime as required to meet project deadlines

Experience will reflect the salary amount and will be discussed at time of interview.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
