Intermediate Accountant

$28-36ph (depending upon experience – 3 months temp with a potential of going permanent)

About the Role

We're looking for an Intermediate Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to month-end close activities. This role involves handling a high volume of transactions, supporting both AP and AR functions, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter a high volume of vendor invoices into the accounting system
  • Support the creation and improvement of internal procedures, particularly within Accounts Payable
  • Input vendor billing data into the transportation management system (TMS)
  • Review TMS data as part of month-end activities
  • Process and apply customer payments
  • Prepare and distribute customer account statements; follow up on overdue balances
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and records
  • Reconcile and post corporate credit card transactions
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and help resolve issues proactively
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable, including collections outreach
  • Support month-end reconciliations and reporting
  • Contribute to ongoing process optimization and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • CPA designation in progress or completed is an asset
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, including at least one year working with intercompany transactions
  • Experience in logistics or transportation is helpful but not required
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and proficiency with MS Office
  • Familiarity with Sage and TMS software is an advantage; training available
