Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place for critical databases.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database configurations.
  • Develop and implement database design standards to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Manage ETL processes using tools like SSIS to facilitate data integration across platforms.
  • Write and maintain scripting for automation tasks using Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, or other scripting languages.
  • Monitor database performance metrics and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Conduct regular backups, restore testing, and ensure data security compliance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema design and query performance.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for ongoing maintenance.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency with SQL, including writing complex queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Extensive experience with MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and related database management tools.
  • Expertise in performance tuning techniques to enhance database efficiency.
  • Knowledge of high availability solutions such as replication, clustering, or mirroring.
  • Experience with ETL processes using tools like SSIS or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell) or other shell scripting for automation purposes.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems for server management and scripting tasks.
  • Strong understanding of database design, normalization, indexing strategies, and security best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to database performance or connectivity. Job Type: Full-time
