Rova Products Canada Inc. ("Rova") located in Brampton, Ontario is a custom cable operation and distributor with a wide variety of customers across the industry spectrum.

We are seeking a high energy team-oriented Junior Accountant. This candidate will have a proven track record at building excellent client relationships and resolving issues with solid problem-solving skills. In addition, they will be providing administrative support to the finance team, therefore an understanding in accounting and experience in a collaborative finance team are considered strong assets

LOCATION: 30 Automatic Rd, Brampton, ON L6S 5N8

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Process and record accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Generate and send out invoices to customers, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Review accounts receivable aging to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses as required.
  • Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist in variance analysis and provide explanations for significant differences between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries.
  • Process adjustments and credits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 1 plus years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be a go getter who is motivated to get the job done.
  • Experience working in small finance group in a collaborative manner.
  • Organized and high attention to detail

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:

  • Familiar with large enterprise accounts
  • Experience with accounts receivable management programs: Coupa and SAP Ariba
  • Experience in other areas of finance would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing in French a strong asset

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • A University or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance would be considered a strong asset.
