Financial Controller





Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00-$160,000.00 per year

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Controller to oversee Snaplii's day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's rapid growth with sound financial management.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in accounting and finance operations within a fintech, payments, or high-growth environment, and can balance hands-on execution with team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Lead all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage cash flow, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with business unit leaders.
  • Monitor actuals versus budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Maintain strong cost control discipline and assist in optimizing expense efficiency.

3. Internal Controls & Audit

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, documentation, and system automation.

4. Business Partnership

  • Work closely with Product, Risk, and Growth teams to align financial tracking with business performance.
  • Provide financial data and insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in evaluating new initiatives, partnerships, and vendor contracts from a financial perspective.

5. Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor accounting and finance team members.
  • Promote accuracy, accountability, and efficiency across all financial workflows.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in fintech, payments, or e-commerce.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record in managing accounting operations in a scaling business environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • CPA designation or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience:

  • working in startup: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • Mandarin (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • CPA (preferred)
