Our client, a non-profit located downtown Calgary, is in search of an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join their team asap The Accounts Payable (AP) Coordinator, reporting to the Team Lead, Accounts Payable, plays a vital role in the Finance Department. This role involves processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims, ensuring payment accuracy, correct allocation to general ledger accounts, and reconciling bank, credit card, and vendor statements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and post payables-related data in the accounting system, addressing discrepancies.
  • Execute regular and emergency payment runs.
  • Collaborate with department managers for invoice approval and payment authorization.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation and files following company policy and accounting principles.
  • Handle monthly reconciliations for accrual accounts, prepaid expenses, gift cards, and petty cash.
  • Assist in annual audits by preparing assigned reports and providing requested documentation.
  • Perform other related tasks and administrative duties as assigned.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative and accountable working relations with internal colleagues.
  • Uphold health and safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellness of clients, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Share knowledge and experience with students, volunteers, and guests interested in services to expand the social justice impact and external ambassador network.

Background Requirements:

  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with a preference for an Accounting certificate or diploma (education and experience combination considered).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Professional handling of confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective team player and independent worker.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is an asset.
