The Common Good Café & Social House is currently seeking an enthusiastic Barista to join our team.

JOB TITLE

Café Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To provide excellent customer service and to enhance the overall experience.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILIITES

The Barista's responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Provide world-class food and drink service to our guests to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Greet and seat guests in a timely matter and communicate with staff when new tables arrive.
  • Answer phone – take reservations and relay any messages to manager or shift lead.
  • Prepare all drinks punched in by wait staff.
  • Take all takeout food and drink orders and verify to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with kitchen staff open counts.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and tidy bar
  • Perform opening duties and/or closing duties
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, and silverware
  • Remove dirty plates, glasses, and silverware
  • Clean and polish silverware and glasses as needed
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with your kitchen colleagues to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous Barista experience necessary
  • Food Service Handler's and smart serve certificate required
  • Positive attitude with strong communication skills
  • Multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • May be required to work a rotating schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • First Aid Certificate an asset
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Frequent bending, walking, and standing. ()
  • Able to lift up to 30Lbs
  • Work inside and outside in varying temperatures
