Corman Park SK ST C, Canada Pine & Thistle Kitchen + Bar Full time

Pine & Thistle Kitchen + Bar is looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the food & beverage manager with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Handle ingredients carefully to prevent unnecessary waste.
  • Answer, report and follow executive or food & beverage manager instructions
  • Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure the delivery of the best possible product.
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma preferred.
  • 2+ years cooking experience, including fast-food or fast-casual restaurants
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures preferred
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Familiar with industry's best practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions without necessarily knowing them
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work well as a team member in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks within the scope of a restaurant job
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
