BCS is a local manufacturing company in based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is looking for an Assembly Technician. The ideal candidate will have all the abilities listed below but we are willing to train the best candidate available. This is a fast-paced work environment and time management as well as keen attention to detail is important. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for developing manufacturing, repair, cleaning and diagnostic electronics equipment and computing devices. As well the role involves the timely processing of all incoming and outgoing items, boxing items, confirms that materials received are as ordered and routes incoming and outgoing, and support the warehouse duties. The company will provide training in all aspects of your role. The Assembly Technician will work closely with the Production manager and other cross functional teams to make recommendations for product and process improvements to help support and propagate a continuous improvement mentality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions for this role are:
Be motivated, well organized, punctual, respectful, honest, and a fast learner
Use precision hand tools, soldering irons, and other equipment to perform intricate assembly tasks
Use of hand and power tools. Eye-hand coordination
Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
Mechanical and electrical assemblies
Cleaning and repair electronics devices and equipment
Ability to lift to 75lbs continuously
Clean and maintain a safe work area

Mechanic, repair experience
Conduct functional tests on completed electronic assemblies.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing
Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures
Package/Pick product for shipping
Load/Unload product for incoming and outgoing shipments
Work Conditions
Full Time, permanent Position
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Frequent moving people and mechanical parts
Unpacking of boxes/packages may result in cuts and scrapes especially to hands and fingers
Pushing of waste bins and carts may lead to strains
Warehousing area can become busy in which the incumbent will have to perform quick turnarounds which may lead to stress
Qualifications, Education
Some post-secondary courses or on the job training in manufacturing, electrical, electronics or other related industrial setting is preferred. This individual will also be mechanically & electrically inclined with strong analytical skills, and intermediate computer knowledge

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
